BUY from BIPoC-owned marijuana.

SHARE your knowledge of BIPoC-owned cannabis shops and brands with anyone in your life that uses cannabis products.

DONATE to the Drug Policy Alliance, the Sentencing Project, the Last Prisoner Project, the Toronto Prisoners’ Rights Project, and efforts throughout Canada to defund the carceral system.

Tools for contributing when you have more time or resources

READ The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander to understand how the war on drugs was aimed at communities of colour.

SUPPORT programs that provide resources, information, and legal support to people who have been incarcerated for drug-related offences.

Options for ongoing and sustainable engagement.

CANADA – CALL your MPs and ask them to vote for Bill C-22, Proposed Changes to Canada’s Criminal Code, which relates to mandatory minimum penalties.

USA – CALL your Members of Congress and tell them to support the Drug Policy Reform Act.

SUPPORT The Minority Cannabis Business Association, which was created to serve the specific needs of minority cannabis entrepreneurs, workers, patients, and consumers across the U.S. They help design and advocate for better policies, and connect and empower their members with the right people and information to be successful.

SUPPORT The Last Prisoner Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to cannabis criminal reform and aims to free all non-violent offenders and help them rebuild their lives.
